What the Ancestors Want Us To See
Collage painting. Painting is a night background with an inaccessible building. In the foreground is a fence with a collage map of Tucson, Arizona. Multiple photos show different performance venues, coffee shops, and nature trails that are inaccessible. Protest signs say Disabled People Barely Tolerated. A quote from a Tucson city business owner says, “I don’t care about your civil rights”
Barely Tolerated

Roots go from the soil into the hand. The other half of the painting is a nighttime desert scene. Cacti and mountains are shown in moonlight. The moon is the shape of a human heart. Joy
On the left-hand side is a tree without leaves in the winter with snow on it. In the middle is a large part with flames going to the top of the painting. On the right-hand side is a Saguaro and ocotillo in the desert.
Long Distance

Mending
Painting shows landscape with 6 cacti, 5 dead, one alive. Below ground sprouts dead roots from each seed except for the alive plant. To the side is a disabled arm and hand planting a seed. On the arm the words “It is accessible?” are written. Lower painting shows an underground scene where roots from the living cacti wrap around connecting images of disability activism.
